Dr. Jasmine Hughes, MD

Dr. Hughes began her journey at Howard University in Washington, D.C., where she received her master's and a medical degree. From there, she relocated to Baton Rouge, LA, and recently completed her pediatric training at Our Lady of the Lake Children’s Hospital. She is a native of Virginia and is returning home to serve the children of our community. Dr. Hughes enjoys spending time with her family, trying new restaurants and foods, leaving Yelp reviews, and roller skating.

Dr. Sharmila Nair, MD, FAAP, Board Certified in Pediatrics

 ​Dr. Nair, the founding partner of Sterling Pediatrics, is a board-certified pediatrician. She completed her residency in Pediatrics from the Brooklyn Hospital Center and Cornell University, NY. She completed her research fellowship at NICHD, NIH, prior to her residency. Dr. Nair has been in practice in the Sterling area for twenty years. She has been a preceptor for Shenandoah University's Physician Assistant Program since its inception. She is also a clinical preceptor for George Washington and Drexel universities. She has special interests in neonatology and asthma management. Her hobbies include hiking, cooking, and traveling. She is married with one child. She speaks Malayalam, Hindi, Marathi, Gujarathi, & Tamil.

Kaalyn Zizus, Certified Physician Assistant

Kaalyn Zizus is a certified physician assistant and a graduate of Shenandoah University, where she received her Master of Science degree in physician assistant studies. She has been a provider at Sterling Pediatrics for over eight years. She completed her undergraduate education at the Pennsylvania State University, receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in biobehavioral health.  She is married and enjoys cooking, baking, and spending time with her family and friends.
